Balloon the Mangy Muse

i guess i feel like a bit of a geek putting my cat on this site, but i figure...he's here, he's loveable and he deserves the exposer...plus truth be known..i am a geek.
i'll keep taking pictures of my baby balloon and try to catch him doing all the cute things that he does. Plus i'll update all you on his health, his dreams and ummm... who he has a crush on.

Balloon is going batty! His favorite man, Mark has been away for the past 5 days, and without him he seems to have lost his lust for life...He currently cries all the time and sniffs at Marks chair...Staring at me, a lil bit hateful. Suddenly I realize that I am not the center of his world anymore. Hard to admit after being his primary caregiver for the past 5 years. Must be the fact that I haven't changed his litterbox since Mark left...hummm. I too, must admit that not having Mark around has been a lil weird. He's back on Wednesday so I'm sure there won't be any permanent damage or scars.
Soon I will write about all the background to this story. How Balloon came into my life, who Mark is…maybe a lil about who I am…or maybe not.

Me, tired and i have heard there is no sleep for the wicked...Balloon is doing laps around the studio and won't settle down on my lap. He normaly sleeps on me as i work, causing much distraction. ohh..i spoke (wrote) to soon...he just jumped up and rests...for he is not wicked, a simple creature who only wants to be constantly petted and spoken to softly.

i thought i posted my comment about balloon and how much he is the MOST incredible lover i have ever been loved by. sorry hayley, i've tried to find a way to tell you and i just couldn't figure it out until now. i have always wanted to tell you how balloon wants to share. i am willing too. i am in love with both of you. balloon is THE BEST. yes, please love him and pet him and cuddle him, he will ove you more. and beleive me, ther is enough love in balloon to go around the room at least three times!!

Posted by: sharai on February 12, 2003 04:57 PMhmmm.. i think balloon needs more brightness and/or contrast to properly do justice to his majestic feline presence.. those images look more suited to a cat named, say, darkstar or something.. or maybe balloon likes to remain in the dim shadows to preserve his enigmatic aura of mystery.. yeah, that's it.. meow.

i always take daarck (with a german accent..) photos...funny cause all of my films are always over-exposed...hummm. i will try to do a better job next time. will be hard since i hardly ever turn on the lights and i simply exists by the glow of my mac.
Mark is home. in the first five minutes of this return, the litterbox was emptied, the garbage was taken out and balloon got catnip. plus i got told a great story of unrequited love in San Francisco.
balloon fancies Maryanne from upstairs...he sends her kitty love and wishes she would come by some more, now that she is back in town...

although you'd perhaps like to imagine that balloon fancies maryanne, i'm sure that, as much as you'd like to, you can't deny that mark is the real subject of balloon's devotion. how sad it must have been for balloon to have mark leave the country for so long to pursue a woman. not only a woman, but a human woman at that! it must have only doubled the poor dear cat's frustration. oh how his furry little heart must have ached.
considering the above, have you offered real consideration to the question of your cat's orientation? now don't be shocked or outraged that i mention the love between a boy cat and a man, a love that dare not speak or meow its name. it doesn't mean that you've been a bad pet owner. parenting can only do so much. it doesn't mean that your putty-tat is evil or immoral. we've progressed a long way in our understanding of this once taboo subject, and society now accepts that these tragic fuzzy souls are neither as rare or as abhorent as initially thought. these bewhiskered deviants deserve neither our scorn nor our condemnation. in our enlightened modern times we see these behaviors as not signs of possession by demons but instead of a deep sickness of the feline mind that deserves only our pity and compassion. breakthroughs in medical science have yielded innovative and promising methods that offer mew hope for these deeply troubled kitties. These treatments include but are not limited to gestalt hissing sessions, high-dose catnip therapy, full-body shaving, cat nap hypnosis, and past nine lives regression therapy. before judging, we must realize that we are all impurrfect. but with your help and support, your cat may one day live a life freed from his shameful cravings for crossbreeding. even if he is never able to resume natural, normal relations, he may learn to suppress his urges and make you a proud cat owner in other ways. it's not certain your cat can be "fixed" but maybe he might even one day become a respected, distinguished, cute, cuddly member of the clergy and preach a message we'd do well not to forget - the gospel of tolerance handed down to us two-thousand years ago by that wise and caring cat who, upon the holy scratching post, was declawed for our sins.
or on the other hand, maybe you're right. maybe balloon just likes having a clean litterbox.

It means he must be blessed by some kind of holy love. Oh the joy that is Balloon...i cannot express the joy!! Not only did the Egyptians cherish cats, but i do too and balloon is it.

Is this a product of his early child cathood development or just great parenting by Hayley? We all know the effects our parents and grandparents have on us , both conscious and unconscious. How else can one explain the attraction to all things English.
Message to Balloon - be nice to Hayley, it's her birthday coming up next week.

( i guess it is mentionable...)
balloon will be here, all by himself with noone but that gastly Mark, to cuddle up to. many people may or may not know this, but Mark never allows Balloon in to the bedroom to sleep.
i read balloon these words from you all, but he is starting to feel a little forgotten. so in this time of my removal from civilization, more important than ever, tell him you love him, how wonderful it is that he is in our world and that you will pet him soon.
tell me too...i need constant validation...
